Rode Microphones NT-1A HELP!?

I am buying a Rode Microphones NT1-A Studio Condenser Microphone and I was wondering if this microphone plugs directly into the computer so I may record my rap directly into Audacity or whatever recording audio program I use. If not, what cords do I need so I can use the microphone directly with the computer? Does the microphone come with a cord that plugs directly in? Also, is it a good idea to get a preamp? I don't even know what it does. For those that have bought this, does it come with a microphone shock mount? And if I DO buy this microphone, I would have to buy a mic stand. But what are some other ways of placing the microphone? I've noticed on some youtube videos that, some singers somehow have it placed on the ceiling, facing down. Then others have it next to their computer somehow facing up towards their mouth! Please help me! I am a beginner and never handled mics before! Thank you!
