Can you recommend some good books about Mayan or Aztec history?

Father's day is coming up, and my dad mentioned he would like some books on Mayan or Aztec history. Can you recommend any good titles/authors that I should look for? I did an online search at Amazon, but without being able to flip through the books, it's hard to choose which are the best ones.
