Okay, so what did Leonardo Da Vinci do or dream up that was so fecking important? Someone just wrote a book?

detailing his many scientific discoveries. Of course he was a great artist as well, but I wonder what's the big deal? Rumor has it that he was gay, and if so, doesn't that automatically cancel out all the positive contributions he made?
