Gov. Sarah Palin... what went wrong? Why did she take on the role of becoming a VP candidate?

This election was full of a lot of things.. I lost some respect for her when her and former NY Mayor Rudy Guliani trashed PRESIDENT-ELECT Barack Obama during the GOP campaign. So what went wrong with Gov. Palin was this race too much for her???
