Why are Americans almost twice as likely to say Obama is trying to help Americans, as opposed to Republicans?

Unlike the conservatives on Y!A here, the majority of Americans are rational and realize that Republicans got us into this mess and that they're unlikely to also be the ones to lead us out of this mess.
